The larvae were left in contact with a dry film of plant-extract (Conc. 1.14 mg/cm2). The plant crude-extracts showing high larvicidal activity (86-100% mortality of larvae) are as follows; Anomianthus dulcic , Homalomena aromatica Schott., Kalanchoe pinnata Lamk., Moringa oleifera Lamk., Oxalis repens Thunb., Pachyrrhizus erosus L., and Rhinacanthus nasutus Kurz., The crude-extracts of Achyranthes aspera L., Aegle marmelos L., Blumea balsamifera DC., Euphobia heterophylla L., Pentapestes phoenicea L., Plumbago zeylanica L., Setcreasea purpurea Boom., and Streblus asper Lour. Showed relatively high larvicidal activity (71-85% mortality). Among the high activity group, only Anomianthus dulcic, Homalomena aromatica, Pachyrrhizus erosus, and Rhinacanthus nasutus still exhibited intense activity at 3 times lower concentration. |
